All classes are virtual, recording is in studio
In this 6-week class, students will work with Elisabeth, a musician and singer-songwriter to learn the basics of writing a song. Students will create everything from start to finish. The last week of our class, students will work one-on-one with Elisabeth to prepare for a recording session. Students will come into the studio (safe, socially distanced) and professionally record their song!
Elisabeth Bockelman is an artist, performer and travel enthusiast from the small town of Galena, IL. Her love of music began while watching old Hollywood films such as Singing in the Rain and The Sound of Music as a child and feeling drawn to them. She began playing piano and singing at the age of six and she carried her passion into college where she studied jazz piano, played in the jazz band, and graduated with a degree in Music Business from Elmhurst University.
She has worked various music related jobs; at concert venues, for record labels, booking shows, performing, and teaching. Elisabeth hopes to inspire more women to get involved in the music industry.
In 2019 she released her EP “Minor Keys” which had many jazz and pop artist influences. Carole King, the Beatles, the Doors, Amy Winehouse, and the Zombies are some of her musical influences. She hopes to release a full album by the end of 2021. She strives to be a full-time songwriter and performer, and inspire others to make music!
